2 X Mark Morris

Well let's see; I'm not obsessed with... I like Walt Disney except that you know, except for the horrible fascism. I love the art of it. I like a lot of things I don't agree with and that's one of them.

Jennifer: Your dancers are a refreshing reflection of the real world in which we live. Each one has such physical individuality, yet the common gift for pure dance. What criteria do you use when selecting company members and how do you know whether a dancer will integrate well within the company?

Mark Morris: Guess what? All dancers I know are human beings! I audition people very rarely, as I have very little turn-over in my company. Criteria: dance great, be grown up, be smart, read some books, love music, get along.

Oldish Interviews here and here.
