Scary Cow

While I was waiting to see this show yesterday, I noticed that Scary Cow was having auditions in another theater in the building. Scary Cow is a community-based and community-financed film company founded by Jager McConnell. Here's a video intro for the company:

The take-aways for me could just as easily be applied to theater (substitute theater for film):
Step 1: Forget everything you know about filmmaking.
Step 2: Partner with other filmmakers like you.
Step 3: Gather what you've got.
Step 4: Get out there and film!
Everything will change.

Thanks E.

I also liked the advice that followed that:

If someone tells you it can’t be done, they are the enemy.

A determined group cannot be stopped.

Learn how to make films by making films.

Be scary.

I was hoping someone would pick those out. I like that whole DIY attitude.
