One of the things I've been focusing on recently is meeting as many artists from as many different fields as I can. There's a natural tendency for the various disciplines to stay within their own fields and I've been wondering if that's a prudent long-term strategy. Especially when you get in the room with a group of artists (name your discipline) and listen to them talk about their concerns. It becomes clear that we're facing some of the same issues - e.g. off the top of my head: the future of criticism, the role of emerging artists (let's not get on the how long do I have to be emerging train), and sharing resources. These two articles speak to our capacity as an Arts Sector to organize, mobilize, and act collectively.
